Lim Tho Ming

Specializing in taxation and corporate fields, he brings a finance-savvy, analytical approach to ALSA. Admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2015, he also serves as the firm’s Office Administrator.

Lim Tho Ming graduated with Bachelor of Business and Commerce (specializing in Accounting and Banking and Finance) from Monash University in 2007. Later on, in 2011, he became a full member of CPA Australia (one of the world’s major accounting bodies). On 1 August 2013, he obtained a second degree when he graduated with Bachelor of Laws from University of London and afterwards, he passed the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) examination in 2014. After his 9 months chambering, the High Court of Malaya admitted him as an advocate and solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in October 2015. In the subsequent year, he was also admitted as a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) pursuant to Section 15 of the Accountants Act 1967. In July 2018, he was admitted as an Associate Member of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM).

Lim Tho Ming joined the team in 2014 with a diverse range of experience. Having worked in Deloitte KassimChan Tax Services (2008) and Columbia Asia group (2008 – 2010), he has seen a vast band of business needs. He leverages this varied background (in education and line of work) to address various client needs, combining critical thinking with analysis to come up with valuable advises.

At ALSA, he supports the firm, working with both the internal team and directly with clients to ensure that his advises are well guided by data and substantiated through careful analysis. Over the years, he’s worked with a full spectrum of cases developing a routine on taking tactical actions, analysing the results, and refining them to be more effective.
