A seasoned lawyer since 1982, he specializes in Conveyancing, Banking, and Corporate matters, bringing extensive knowledge and leadership to ALSA. He also served on the Disciplinary Committee of the Advocates & Solicitors Disciplinary Board for 23 years.
Alan Lim was raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and graduated with B.Sc (Physics) from Otago University, New Zealand in 1978, and two (2) years later, he obtained a second degree, LL.B from Otago University, New Zealand in 1980. Shortly thereafter, in early December 1981, he was admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court in New Zealand. Upon returning to home ground at the end of 1981, Alan then began his legal career after being admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court in Malaya in 1982.
He practises mainly in the field of Conveyancing, Banking and Corporate and maintains consistent presence to uphold cohesive excellence. He advises and educating clients with his experience and expertise, so they can make empowered and informed decisions. Alan was a member of Investigating Tribunal from 1996 to 2010, and since 2011 a member (and often chairman) of the Disciplinary Committee of the Advocates & Solicitors Disciplinary Board. Hence, he has been involved in disciplinary matter for more than 20 years.
He first helped to establish Messrs Tengku Mohamad, Achan & Lim in 1985 which name was later changed to Messrs Tengku Mohamed & Alan Lim in 1994. In 2011, Alan established ALSA. With his leadership skills on top of the many years of experience, ALSA will continue to strive to excel and deliver excellent professional services to clients while at the same time fostering a resourceful and conducive environment for day-to-day operations.
